Otherwise scrap quilts do not appeal to me!

Me too! A semi organized scrap quilt.

Mostly scrapper,as that is what is available to me,more than yardage.

Both - planned quilt, then make a scrappy quilt out of the left - overs. Why?- because the material costs $26 per metre and I'm not throwing it away at any time.

My first quilt top was scrappy with purpose, in that I cut out all the squares of fabric I just 'happened' to have and then arranged, sort of in 9 patch, before stitching together.

My current quilt project is a BOM. So the fabrics and pattern are chosen for me. I am also doing alternates in fabrics of my choosing on the same pattern. The BOM is various blues with neutrals and complements, and on my alternates I choose similar groupings (focus fabric with neutrals and complements).

I have future quilts in my head that are primarily focused on fabric and I'll have to find a pattern that works (I have a denim in mind and a 'clothing nostalgia', etc.)

For the few years I have quilted, I preplanned fabric. Now with the cost of fabric & being recently retired, I'm looking at the stash I've collected. Will probably work on scrappy quilts in the future.

Both. I have a LOT of stash, so I can easily do planned scrappy quilts.

The one I'm currently working on is 24 different reproduction reds and white-- all from stash. Life is good.

I'm becoming a scrapper - just finishing a String=X quilt pattern from www.quiltville.com. I loved doing the strings - no matching, no worry. Great fun.

I am a scrapper, I get so excited when I go into the church closet and someone left a bag a scraps. It is amazing how it all comes out at the end.
