Yes that's how I start my day.

I try to go on this and another board every day!

liking quilting 11-11-2011 12:03 PM

Yes, this has become an addiction; now quilting has too! Fun.

franc36 11-11-2011 12:03 PM

I get up early to read the Quilting Board before breakfast. As I take breaks during the day, I read for 15 minutes, then read again before bedtime. It is very addicting; but I have learned so much that I am not complaining. When I am quilting and have a question, I check, and, sure enough, someone has already asked my question and all I have to do is to read the responses. It is wonderful!

nannyrick 11-11-2011 12:18 PM

Me too. Sometimes I take a break and do an afternoon one to.

ka9sdn 11-11-2011 01:08 PM

Enjoy tnis board first thinf in the morning, now just toget to figure out the new system--very confusing yet.

Spuddy 11-13-2011 12:21 PM

The only bad thing about the Quilting Board is that I spend so much time enjoying it, that I am not getting enough sewing finished anymore.

caspharm 11-13-2011 12:33 PM

I read it in the morning and sometimes later in the day when I get threads back.

Stitchnripper 11-13-2011 01:20 PM

I'm here several times a day - when I travel I use my iPhone. I do enjoy the new mobile format for the phone and I am beginning to get more comfortable on the new format. It hasn't stopped me from enjoying being here. I do get the email digests. Maybe there is a setting to get on it.

Sewflower 11-13-2011 01:24 PM

I'm an evening viewer. Get on when dinner is cooking. Sometimes get so involved that dinner gets a little well done. LOL

Raggiemom 11-13-2011 01:28 PM

I find myself checking the board throughout the day to make sure I'm not missing anything! :)

SherryW 11-13-2011 02:07 PM

Yes. I think I'm addicted to this board. I usually look at it at night though, when I can finally relax.

SandyinZ4 11-13-2011 02:15 PM

I am still here, too although not as good at it as I was with the old board. But I keep coming back every day to try and learn more. Mainly I want to see what lovely things everyone else is working on.

ywoodruff5 11-13-2011 02:18 PM

For sure.....I tend to go into withdrawal if I miss a day and have to play catch-up.

Panchita 11-13-2011 02:23 PM

I'm a dipper. I tend to read in the morning, dip in and out through the day (currently not working), and then come back on in the evening.

snow 11-13-2011 03:36 PM

I always end the day reading and posting on thte qbif I do it in the morning won't get anything done. LOL:)

tutslady 11-13-2011 04:01 PM

I can't picture life with the QB now. Isn't it funny how fast we become hooked on the things we enjoy.

Phannie1 11-13-2011 04:06 PM

I got where this is my Facebook. I love that fact that we can talk aobut quilting, something We all must love. We can let things off our chest, talk about our kids, grandkids, and grandkittens and puppies. I love this Board. Thanks to all that make my day great.

Scakes 11-13-2011 04:52 PM

I always give the board a quick look in the morning and usually take breaks during the day to check in a bit. While my dh plays his guitar at night, I am usually looking at the board or checking out sites that have been posted, etc.

Drue 11-13-2011 05:38 PM

Yes, I am in Texas and I start my day, most every day with the QB...I get up somewhere between 5 anad 6 every morning....I always look forward to coming in here...I hate it that the posts are so scrambled up now, but I still look forward to it....Unfortunately, the post change positions and whatever...very confusing and frustrating and a search thing.... Hopefully "they" will get all the ugs works out and we will get back to an easy format.... I also usually close my day with the QB, and once again have to search out where I left off in the morning! Such a bother! Oh well...this too will pass!

3incollege 11-13-2011 05:45 PM

It depends when I work, I will check in the morning if I don't have to go to work early. I like it at night when everything is calm.

jaciqltznok 11-13-2011 05:52 PM

used to..since the big change, not so much! my life is full and hectic this time of year..trying to find where posts are, navigate the new site, etc...is just NOT on my agenda right now...miss so many friends...miss reading the updates, etc....since nobody replies to things I post any more...or at least I am not getting emails saying that they are..I just don't spend much time on here at all these days!

dltaylor 11-13-2011 06:37 PM

I must admit, I log on at least 2 to times per day!!

lizpatterson1 11-13-2011 06:54 PM

I do the same. Sometimes I stay too long on here and then I have to rush to get ready for work. I love looking at all the beautiful creations.

Crafty Darlene 11-13-2011 06:56 PM

Same here! I usually start with the board and also check out MSQC daily deal. Then I usually check a couple times and also before I go to bed! So guess I'm hooked also! LOL!

MS quilter 11-13-2011 06:57 PM

Yep, that sounds like me too!

sawsan 11-13-2011 07:08 PM

I take a bunch of tablets at the morning , some more after lunch and most of the dose at night because it makes me relax, alive and i feel my self at home with all great family
Yes, I am addicted

annesthreads 11-14-2011 12:05 AM

I've just written a long reply and it's got lost in the sending -which keeps happening. Grr.

So, as I was saying.... I retired 9 months ago and am still really enjoying a more leisurely start to the day. I get up, have breakfast, clear the decks, pour myself some more tea or coffee and switch on the computer. Check emails and Facebook, then onto the board. My rule is just to check the first 3 pages of threads on Main - otherwise I'd never get anything else done! Love the new feature that enables me to read the beginning of a thread without opening it up - non-explanatory subject lines used to drive me crazy. I subscribe to any threads that interest me, then through the day will check my email and go back to them if there've been any new posts. One very small complaint about the new board here (my only one!) - if you link to a thread from email, it takes you to the beginning, whereas on the old board it went to the last post you'd read, which was much easier.

Someone said she'd lost her emails - you can set them up under "settings" or, I've just discovered, if you click on the "advanced" option for your reply.

I come back onto the board in the evening to see what's been added - and maybe during the day if I'm feeling bored or a bit lonely.

I really love this place - I used to quilt with a friend, but do it on my own now, and it's so nice to have people to discuss things with and ask for help. Big thanks to those who give their time to run it, and to everyone who contributes so generously.

northern lass 11-14-2011 01:13 AM

Computer on, breakfast, then cup of tea while tuning in to QB. Still navigating my way round, not as easy as before the change over.

quilterella 11-14-2011 02:04 AM

It is 5:00 and the house is quiet...everyone else is still sleeping. Fresh pot of coffee, peace and quiet and the quilt board...what else could a girl ask for.

raptureready 11-14-2011 03:17 AM

Yes, I have too. I had broken the habit after having eye surgery in Feb., but all it took was a long on recently and I'm hooked again. That's the way it is with addictions I guess. lol
I agree, Quilterella, only I don't drink coffee (diet coke for me). DD and DH quietly snoozing away and I'm sitting here grinning at my computer with my fingers flying through the keys.

BeckyL 11-14-2011 03:42 AM

Just finished my coffe and read your post. I usually read QB every AM and again at least one or two times during my day. I so enjoy all of the pictures, tips, and genuine caring I see on this Board.

SandScraps 11-14-2011 06:45 AM

Here in Namibia, the email lands just before lunc. So I get my snack and a big cup of tea and then "tune in" for an hour of ohh and aah over the lovely pictures and posts. Better than a power nap or shopping. Any day!

SandyinZ4 11-21-2011 08:57 PM

I thought I had replied to this but guess not. I too, don't plan to give it up as it has been so very helpful to me with quilting tips and good friends. Even though I am slowly getting the hang of it, I probably won't be on here as much because I have such a backlog of UFO's that learning the new stuff is probably a good thing to help me get them done and not be on here so much. LOL! Then with the holidays we are all busier but I jwon't quit this board.
