Default Project Linus quilts

When you make a quilt for Project Linus, do you apply a label or embroidery, such as "From Mary to you from Project Linus," or other words?

There are labels you can get from Project Linus. They depict Linus with his blanket (from Charlie Brown characters). If you don't have the labels, when you donate to an official Project Linus drop site, they will sew the label on. If you can, contact your local Project Linus chapter and find out how you can get the labels. It will save them time if you can sew on the labels and attach a blue painter's tape strip with the measurements of the quilt. Thanks for donating your time to this great project......

I donate a lot of quilts, not to them but to others and I never put a label on them. In fact I never put labels on any quilts.

I have donated quilts to PL and I understand that they put labels on them. I never considered putting a label on any donated quilts (and I have donated 100s over the years) for any charity. I figure that these gifts are from the heart and don't need the identification of the giver. Actually, the recipient wouldn't know me anyway.

At our workshops, there are a group of people whose assignment is to put labels on all the finished quilts. I have never put my own name on any of my donations. I continue to be amazed at the requests for PL quilts. Besides our usual channels of donation, our chapter had a separate request for 300.

I do Project Linus Quilts but never put my name on them because that isn't important. Instead I had little labels made that simply says "You Are Loved" and put one on the back of each quilt. Each label is about 5/8" x 3 1/3".

I do computer printed labels for our group: Made for someone special from the Valley View Group.

If it's a quilt just from me: The same from the Mad Quilter

The P/L labels are not just given out to anyone. The blankets are counted so they know how many have gone out to the groups / families in need. Once you've been a "blanketeer" for a while, the coordinator might let you make your quilts and label them at home. It just depends on the local group.

They have groups that get together and process the quilts (look for things that might not have gotten finished, pet hairs, etc.). Once the quilt is checked, the group puts the labels on. It's a very fun group to hang out with for a couple of hours each month. I moved and miss my group so much. My new location doesn't have any groups nearby.
