Puzzle quilt

Puzzle quilt
I don't know if I dreamed it or saw it on Pinterest, Facebook, a magazine or who knows where but I thought I saw a puzzle quilt in maybe 12" blocks with some sort of sashing in between the blocks. I've looked and Googled and can't find what I thought I saw. Has anyone seen something like that and can you share where you saw it? I'm pretty sure I can graph it out with little trouble, I just wanted to look at it again. Thanks!

I have made several puzzle quilts, though I have never put sashing in them. The blocks were larger than 12 inches though. Let me see if I can find a picture. I remember that the quilt used fat quarters and all were cut along the same lines and then the pieces were randomly scrambled. This may not be at all what you are thinking of....

I remember seeing pics of puzzle quilts with a wide outside border with a "missing piece" floating in the border but can't seem to find them now. Does that sound like what you're looking for?
I made this quilt for a puzzle fanatic a while back, but the camera flash has kind of washed out the color:

The blocks are 8" square (finished) and the knobs or legs of each piece are machine appliqued on adjoining blocks. I did find this blog post of one made in much the same way: http://www.piecesbypolly.com/2015/01...bric-free.html
The differences: I used cotton and I didn't use interfacing and just used heavy starch on fabrics. I used newsprint underneath when I appliqued then tore off paper before assembling blocks.
