You can use batting just quit it well. If you have it use spray baste to hold the batting in place.

I just made a psot on the bow tucks today...several said they had used regular batting and baste on spray. That's what I will do next. I did not enjoy using the fleece! at $10 for 2 yards (with 40% off!) it should have "stuck" much better to the fabric imho. I ended up pinning it just to quilt it. I do like how the bag has turned out though and will make another but I won't spend my money on the fusible fleece!

I'll have to get some of that Spray Batting. I hear about it all the time.

I have used both and they both work. I will use batting from now on.

I have used low loft batting and nearly thru with purse.. everything turning out ok.. trying to stick with pattern proceedure just to make sure of all steps of pattern.. hard for me as I have a tendency to take off on a wild thought.. sometimes at wrong time. will post photo when finished.. got to work for next 3 days so will be after Monday.

You don't need to spend money on basting spray if you don't have it. Just put your stitch length on 3.5 or 4.0 and run a basting stitch around the edge of the fabric to the fleece. Works great! I do this all of the time.
