I have tried it and doesn't seem to help. I go ahead and use it out of the package, after quilt is quilted, washed and dried, It looks good to me and can't tell how wrinkly the batting started out .

My batting is on a rol and I only have the seam to contend with so I will lay it out but only for a few hours. Depending on the weather it will lay down.

Quote: Do you all leave your batting laid out flat for a day or so before use to relax the creases? Or do you use it straight out of the package? And is there a noticable difference either way? Thanks!
I always throw the batting in the dryer for about 5 minutes. Takes out most, if not all of the wrinkles. (cotton)

Me, too. And it does make it easier to sandwich.

Quote: If I think about it soon enough I like to lay the batting out flat on our guest room bed. I don't always think that far in advance, so do give it a toss in the dryer on low or air setting for a couple of minutes and that usually relaxes it enough. Cotton may need a spritz of water before going in the dryer to make it behave.

I've tossed mine in the dryer with a damp towel but normally, I just hang it over the railing for a day.

Quote: I usually forget to lay it out so I just throw it in the dryer for a few minutes. I use the dryer balls so it knocks it around and keeps it from bunching up too much. Has always worked fine for me.
I never thought of using the balls to help. It does make life easier if it is flatter.

I try and get it out when I buy it by the bag.....I now buy it on the roll, but I still lay it out to straighten it and measure it for sure and it always seems to need some adjusting
