I bind small items like his all the time. Two things to remember: be sure to lock your stitches at the end of the center seam, otherwise they will pull out when you turn the corner and carefully trim off the batting so it fits into the corner. Besides that its really easy. Here is another way to make the corner. http://cluckclucksew.com/2014/01/bin...uilt-back.html

I finally bought the tool from Nancy's, too, it makes a world of difference.

There is a tool for this -- can be used on regular binding as well -- "Quick Easy Binding Tool" -- sew their website if you are interested. You can use the method described without the tool however. Brought the tool at a quilt show years ago, tho' any smaller ruler will work well. Also offered at the website is an Easy tool for use on mitered borders, including a formula and work sheet to help you with the amount of fabric to cut for your project.

Some of us are "tool heavy" -- as my DH would say -- you should see the garage!
