Don't understand either but my machine came with both the p and p2 so In a couple hours when our janome dealer is open I'm going to call and see what the 6600 uses the p foot for. I bought my machine new several years ago so it's not like someone put it in the box by mistake from another one of their machines. The p foot I have looks just like the p2 only a little shorter.

Funny, no P foot with mine, neither is it listed in the manual. It's just a mistake somewhere in the packing process - these things happen.

Mine only came with the P-2 and it was the only one listed in the manual.

I think I agree. I have both and I think it was just an error in packing from the factory. But now I'm curious what machines the P foot fits. Still going to call my dealer maybe it will fit my granddaughters mc9000 since that is a combo machine and it will give her an extra foot. If not then going to offer it here for someone that can use it. No sense having it in the box if it doesn't fit my machine. Never tried it since I have the P2 so didn't realize it wasn't for this machine. Learn something new everyday here.

Just checked my box again and I would say big packing error. Not only do I have a P foot but I have two P2 feet. Now i Wonder if I'm missing any feet that belong to the machine. Have to dig the book out again and check them all. I don't do free motion on it and don't change from the walking foot so never noticed the error. Until I got a long arm (used) a couple months ago I always hand quilted.

The P foot is ONLY for Janome embroidery machines...it's the foot that is on my 350e. So yeah I would say big packing error indeed! lol

Hi...thanks to everyone for reply and sorting this out for me.
I contacted the dealer that I bought it from first thing this morning and he agreed that it should be the P2 foot so is ordering me one on Monday and will post it out...just a pain as I really wanted to try it out this weekend....but maybe a little patience isn't a bad thing.
This board is amazing and I am so thankful of everyone that replied...have had fun playing with the machine today though.

Glad it's been sorted but feel your frustration. Like a new toy that needs batteries on Christmas Day. Have fun with your new toy.
