Half log cabin on the site recommended by DebraK certainly impressed me. That looks like a site worth bookmarking for future ideas. Thanks DebraK and success with whatever pattern(s) you choose Yarn Or Fabric.

I even like the 10 min. block or the 5 min. block. The 10 will use the center for the focal fabric. The 5 min. block has lots of options. You said something FAST!

That Amish stripes and strings goes fast and it is on Mary's site too.

I've had this happen just this past year - needed 6 large lap/couch - 60 x 72- quilts in 3 months. My plan on this when it happens is to chose one truly complex quilt block - and enlarge it - make the individual squares 4 - 6 inches....
The other trick i use is the method that we all learned when water-color quilts were so popular - fuse your squares in their pattern to lightweight innerfacing - sewing is a snap. Good luck !!

Ha - when you get time and need a new pattern, try out the 5 minute block pattern by Suzanne McNeill. Fast and versatile. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...ViLmjOHuHJNbAw

I thank everyone for all these new sites I have never visited before. I love that Mary site, have never visited it before, but she has some pretty quilts on there. Good Luck with whatever you make.

If you want fast and very impressive you can't beat this: http://phillipsfiberart.danemcoweb.c...ngs-that-bind/ It takes a lot of fabric but it is done when you get the top sewn. No layering or quilting to do. The book has been reprinted. Be sure and watch the video demo.

Debrak,
That is a great idea. http://www.maryquilts.com/half-log-cabin/
I would make super size squares with borders and cut it 1/4s.
I did that with butterfly glass with thin strips of black between colors. Started with a 7 or 71/2' square.

I love the turning twenty pattern! No matter what the fabric, every time I see one, I'm pleased

10 minute block and then yesterday I saw a utube video on a 5 minute block by the same gal that does the 10 minute block. SUPER EASY and turns out beautiful.
