It's my turn to do the lesson in January...what are some great lessons you have all had lately at your local meetings? Trying to think of something fun and new!! Thanks.

How to clean you cutting mat correctly would be nice to learn. I say that because I just learned how to and have been wanting to learn how to for the longest time. I don't know if everyone knows how to, so teaching everyone the correct way to clean it would be valuable.

How about the paper piecing block on the Quilters Cache pattern, That Thirties Thing? Someone learned how to do a block at their guild meeting and posted their finished quilt on QB. I have added that pattern to my next scrap pattern to do.

I use to be program chairman for my guild. It was not an easy job! The favorite program/workshop last year was everyone making the 1600 jelly roll quilt. Everyone came with the strips sewn together and rolled up. In an hour everyone was through and we had a great show and tell with lots of oohs and ahhhs. I am now the demo person for my guild. I buy and demo new tools, books, and patterns. If I want to keep the item, I pay for them, if they stay in the guild library, the guild pays for them.

I enjoyed the demo at our guild that showed how to use some of our "common" rulers, using the markings to their fullest use.

If I were in your guild I would love to do the 1600 jelly roll race, like BellaBoo suggested.
