    Default quilt kit question

Hello all. I just scored a Tree of Life quilt kit (unopened). I am a bit leery of the blue placement/quilting markings. How are they removed or is there any thing I should beware of (like do not iron). I am sure that someone out there has experience with these old kits and would love to hear from you. TIA!

I had blocks for embroidery years ago that were printed in that blue ink. A couple got wet or damp and the color came out. I had to try to draw it back in as best I could. I think your quilting markings will wash out. I'd say you need to open it and the directions probably tell you how to treat it. I think if there are no instructions I would beware of ironing it and definitely do not prewash.

he, he. long, long ago i bought some blue marked fabric. I was in the thought of everything needs to be washed first. washed it and no more markings! I was dumb but told the company who sold it to me it should have been marked to wash after sewing/quilting. they actually sent me another packet!

    Default thank you

Your advice matches my gut feeling. No instructions inside so I plan to wing it!

I'm working on a top that I bought about 7 yrs. ago. I did the embroidery, put the quit away until now. DO Not iron it or wash it. The iron will set the die and it may not come out. Washing will takeout all the die and no more marks. I hope yours is better than mine. Some of the quilting lines did not get marked and I've had to trace some so I cold remark the blank spots. When I get it finished it will be beautiful. Good luck with yours.
