WOW...$30 for just 10 blocks...and nothing to tie them together, as in other blocks, borders, etc...
The rail fence was just a bit TOO easy!
Have to do some more research for sure!

I just won on eBay 12, 8" precut batik log cabin blocks for $15.45. No way I could do it for that price especially batik fabrics. Since the seller had several, I got two kits, and the combined shipping was only $4.30 So for $35, I got a good sized batik quilt top :thumbup:
I rarely buy precut quilts, but once in awhile, I just want to be lazy and have it done for me :wink:

I wouldn't mind mine pre-cuts but would want my fabrics and my patterns. You could start with those ladies and see if you enjoy doing it for others. Maybe offer them $5 off their next order if they refer someone to you with an order if you want to continue. I would wash their fabric as you don't know if it might have little unwanted "pets" in it because who wants bed bugs in their stash? I would tell them before hand that you wash all fabric before cutting.

Recently at a Women's Expo, a quilting stall sold quilt kits....I was so tempted to buy one but changed my mind because I thought if I made a mistake in cutting, I wouldn't have enough fabric to finish the kit. I'm still thinking about that kit and wondering if I should have taken the chance. If the kit had been precut, I think I wouldn't have hesitated to buy it.

When I owned my quilt shop a few years ago, I did kits for new and upcoming lines, and only did 5. I also used to do the fabric cutting for their patterns for several elderly ladies, as long as they bought the fabric in my store. I would take a Monday (as we were closed) and do up their kits for them. I only charged $10.00/hr for doing this, as they did purchase the fabric in my store. They were always very appreciative and didn't mind paying the extra fee. I did this for five years, as an extra for customers, as no one else offered it and I never had any negative feedback.

A few years ago, i ran into a woman at Joanns..she was picking out her fabrics, had the pattern in hand. She said she had arthritis so bad, she could not cut anymore. she paid a woman
$30 to cut the quilts out for her.
i thought i could do that! retired and I love cutting
(and piecing!) hate the quilting and binding process..
now if i could just find people,locally, to cut for! think of the fabric i could buy!
