If you put a QR code on your quilt label, what if someone just removes the label. Is there a way to put the code on the inside of the quilt, ?, on the back of your back fabric. I guess the downfall of that is if it gets lost or stolen, you'd have to take the quilt apart to identify it.

Cindi also made another tutorial that shows how you can utilize QR codes and smart phones to put an identifying label on your quilt that helps to identify it and bring it home in case of loss or theft.

    hope this helps

The QR code is brilliant. I would have never thought of that!

The risk is the same no matter what kind of label you use - a QR label or a handwritten label. The difference is that a QR label is very easy for the person who has recovered the quilt to contact you. A traditional quilt label usually has the quilt maker's name, city, and state, and that's it, right? So the person who finds it has to look them up on the internet or a phone book. A QR label can include your email address, a web address, or a phone number, which the finder can immediately contact to let you know they've found the quilt. A QR label can also be a marketing tool - I plan on putting QR labels on my quilt that's going into my county fair, that way people can find my blog!
