I wanted to make two wall hangings..both with an Asian theme....the panel I have has geishas on it. The panel you have shown here...would you say that it has an Asian feel to it? If so, could you tell me where you bought it? Thank you.
See if you can find some of Timeless Treasures panels by Chong-A Hwang. She does some gorgeous panels with an Asian feel to them. All that I have seen are beautiful.

[QUOTE=linda8450;7964605]I love panels, they make easy work out of making a quilt! Some call them cheaters, I call them beautiful works of art!
———————————

Just to clarify, there is a difference between a “panel” and a “cheater”. A panel is like the one you posted. A cheater is, (as an example), a finished Dresden Plate quilt top that is “printed” on the fabric. All someone has to do is add the batting and backing and quilt it. Very well printed “cheaters” have to be looked at closely to see they are not pieced. Cheaters are not as common as they were years ago.

Dresden Plate is not the only pattern on a cheater. There are many, i.e. Double Wedding Ring, 9 patch, squares and/or rectangles, triangles, etc. A cheater comes in yardage which distinguishes it from a panel.

I love the examples shown, even if they are not true "cheaters".

Elleen1~Good explanation of the difference. Thank you.

OMG...she has gorgeous fabrics! look so luxourious. I searched through the panels and didn't see the one you have (crane one). That panel has a lot of the colors that my geisha one has. Would love to have it. Is there a name for it? Thank you.

All pictures are very nice quilts. I like panels--they require some thought to get them to the size that you wish to make. I like the challenge.

I just recently posted this in the pictures:

All blocks except the center started from this panel:

Love the panel quilts posted!

Anne, I can recommend https://www.equilter.com/ for great layouts for panel projects. Just go to the free patterns tab and you will find many.

Another option, go to the manufacturer web site listed on the panel, (i.e. http://www.northcott.net/pattern.aspx ) if it is a somewhat current line they usually have one or two free pattern options you can down load. Look forward to seeing what you come up with!
