    When I'm cutting pieces, I put a long strip of that blue painter's tape right on the ruler so I don't lose the right measurement mark. Lately, I've also begun writing on that painter's tape strip what that mark is, like "3 1/2" in big black letters.

    I like the Omnigrid rulers. They have marks where you can align the horizontal to the vertical at the bottom corner, that helps me.
    I am currently working on one that was suppose to be in 1/16th's (they) graciously managed to change it to 1/8's and for some reason I am still not coming out right; but I will persevere - I will I will I . . . will.
