I was with my brother in intensive care with our father. He had just come from work and I asked him or his tie when he didn't want it. My father and brother thought it was very amusing and it did break the tension.

I think we all do that. I see quilt designs and potential quilt fabrics everywhere. Not long ago, I made DH take a picture of a carving in a restaurant. I know it will make a great quilt. Fortunately, he is used to this by now.
