Default Quilt Racks

What are the pros and cons of a metal quilt rack vs a wooden quilt rack to display quilts?

can't say on metal but if a problem you could put something over the metal first. I have a wooden one and love it. Mainly because it looks old. So I think it's each to his or her own. Good luck.

I have both and prefer the cast iron one because it's heavier and doesn't tip over. It is big, though, holding a lot of quilts. The small wooden one only holds three. I wish I had one of those quilt ladders for displaying quilts!

No problems with metal racks.

I think it's personal preference, whatever your aesthetic and budget prefers.
I'd protect the rungs on both, especially if I didn't know the construction or provenance. Some wood oils can damage fabric, and some metals can rust. Pool noodles for the win! ☺️
