I was just finishing an IH Farmall tractor quilt, when I discovered I had run out of red for the final border. I emailed the quilt shop, which is one hour away from here, and requested more red fabric. To my dismay, they sent the wrong color of red.
Should I? (A) drive 60 miles and back to get the correct red
    (B) Sit and pout about it
    (C) do some thing else with the final border

If you have any ideas for me, give me a holler. I am so disappointed, and I don't know what to do.

UGH! That is a major bummer! So sry :( I would pout and eat some chocolate or ice cream and then figure out something else for the border (that will probably rock even more anyhow!)

I would call them up and make sure they have the right color before going there.

HMMMM If they sent the wrong color I would....call inform them of the mistake, inform them that you can't hardly finish your half way done quilt with the fabric they sent you and that you would like to A) return the fabric for the right stuff (if this is what you are wanting to do) or B) come purchase the right color fabric, either way before driving up there make sure they HAVE the right color. They could have simply sent you the wrong color by mistake or they MIGHT have been out of the color you needed and found the next best thing. Kindly inform them you are calling to find out if they have it before you drive 120 miles round trip to get what you ordered. IF they value their customers you might get something for your time!

If they are not willing to do anything about their mistake I would chalk it up and find something else but I don't know that I would any longer be a customer in their store!

I would let them know of the difference in color maybe it is just different dye lot then I would mail them a sample of what you have and ask it they could match it and re send the correct color.

I would contact them and give them a chance to fix the mistake.

If it's a dye lot issue, they may or may not have more of the original shade. If it's a small shop, they may only keep one bolt of a color in stock at a time. Or... if it's a solid red, they may carry more than one brand (which adds to the potential for confusion).

I would definitely call them first, to see if you can figure out a solution, long distance.

It was the shop's fault, the person you talked to should have known to tell you to send a sample of the fabric you needed in order for them to send the exact one.
