Hi, I am a Canadian quilter who will be flying in to Charlotte, NC and driving to Hilton Head, SC to spend a week on the beach. I'll be then driving to Crescent Beach near St. Augustine Flordia for two weeks. I would love to know the names of local of quilt shops and fabric shops along my route.
Can anyone help me with this?
I have 2 quilting friends who will be joining me in in Crescent Beach, and we are all ready and wiling to spend, spend, spend our money on fabric and quilting things. Please help us!
Luckily, we all have supportive DH's who are willing to stop when and whenever a fabric shop is in sight.

Woo...I'm just south of Raleigh, so I can't help you. I'm here to tell you the weather is just GORGEOUS right now!! I got to go visit a friend in Canada about a month ago, and it was lovely. Viva Tim Horton's!

I used to live in Beaufort, SC. You are going to have a blast!! The shop on Hilton Head is small, but very nice and easy to find. There is also a small shop in Beaufort, but it is difficult to find and very small.

If you are flying into Charlotte, and driving to Myrtle Beach, you should take the time to go to Mary Jo's. She is on Cox Street in Gastonia. 32,000 square feet of material. and a fantastic place to shop. about 20 minutes from Charlotte
Here is the link to her store, and you can take a virtual tour. The greatest place to buy fabric on the eastern seaboard. :-D :-D
I live about 1 1/2 hrs away, and go as often as I can.

Thanks so much for the help. I have a cousin whom I visit in Charlotte almost every year and Mary Jo's is always on the shopping list! I bring an empty suitcase to fill for the flight home! LOL
I am most interested in finding quilt shops or fabric stores near St. Augustine as I'll have 2 weeks there and that's where my two quilting friends will be joining me.

I couldn't wait to find the local quilt shop during our Hilton Head stay, but was bitterly dissappointed. It is very small, has some anticipated fabrics, but it just didn't give me that warm, fuzzy I usually get in a great quilt store. I wound up buying nothing and that's a first.
Maybe your trip will be better.
