We are planning a trip to Pigeon Forge area in a few weeks. I've been on Google looking for a few quilt shops to visit while there. I found The Cherry Pit and Machine Quilting by Iva in Sevierville and Mountain Stitches by Susan in Gatlinburg. I was wondering if anyone could give me feedback on these places or if you knew of other hidden gems in that area. Thanks for all your help!!!

I've been to both the Cherry Pit and Iva's. I enjoyed both, but my favorite was Iva's. It is a good size place with great fabric and the most friendly and helpful staff I've seen in a long time.

I can't answer your question. However I will pay close attention to all responses you recieve. My mil and her new husband just built a log cabin in the Pigeon Forge area. So hopefully I will get to visit quilt shops in that area in next few years.

I've been to all three of these stores 3 or 4 times, and they are all wonderful. Wonderful staff and lots of fabric. Iva's has tons of charm packs. There's another one at Cosby, just outside Gatlinburg. I think it's called Holloway's. I'll check my Quilter's Traveler's book tommorrow and send you the address. You won't want to miss it. Iva's also has a nice sale section.

All three of those shops are great and the people very helpful. We have bought several of Susan's FQ packs.

I've been to the Cherry Pit. They have some great patterns and kits. Also there is one in I think Gatlinburg. You turn by I think it's Red Lobster. Turn right. Go about a mile and turn right at the light. It looks like your going to a commercial zone. But on the right hand side of the road in a store front is a quilt shop. The prices are good and they have some beautiful 1st quality fabrics. They have a batik room I remember. I don't remember the name, they had construction at the time so they had us detoured. It could have been in Sevierville too. I just know if I get back to Tennessee, I WILL find it again. Anyone have a web address for Iva's so I can check out if that's the shop? I love Tennessee.

Just returned a few days ago from Sevierville-PigeonForge-Gatlinburg area
where I visited shops mentioned on this page.
They all had good features. Iva's seemed to have largest
selection and the friendliest staff. The Cherry Pit had lovely
fabric and examples of things to sew. In the Glades area
in the Artist Community near Gatlinburg, was the small
shop of Susan. Great plaza to take small kids. They can be in
stroller and see you inside thru the large windows while
tended by other family or friend. Yes, I bought something
at each one! I had made a purchase in the neat Cosby shop in 2010.
(down the road is an apple orchard/shop too.) Quilter from
    north FL

I've been to Holloway's and The Cherry Pit. Both of them are very nice stores.
