my table is at 28", which i think is the standard height. It works fine for sewing but I like the table lower when i FMQ. I don't scrunch/tense my shoulders up as much with it lower

I'm another shortie. I echo the suggestion to use some type of footstool. Given your situation, that will probably be the easiest and cheapest adjustment you can make.

I totally agree with everyone on the footrest concept. My hubby made 1 for each of my machines they work remarkably well! I am still working on having him cut off the legs of my sewing tables. That way I won't have to scrunch up my shoulder so much. I am using 2 heavy duty banquet tables from Costco. I love all the room on them they are just simply too high for me.
