I am very allergic to my cats but only if I pet them and touch my face or eyes. Then they swell shut. It is the oil in our hands that mix with the dander that does the trick and if they just barely nick me with their claws and that swells up and turns all colors. My kitty loves to eat the batting so have to really watch it.

Cats have strange ways and my cat eats the thread that I cut off after sewing. I wonder if they eat that stuff because they smell food or our sent on it. Cat claws are very dirty and also there saliva can cause one heck of an invection so I keep a bottle of hand sanitiser near by.

Thread is very dangerous. I had a very sweet cat who ate some thread and it got wrapped around her intestines. Unfortunately we couldn't save her. I am now fanatic about making sure all thread goes into the basket and gets emptied as soon as I'm finished sewing.
