A few weeks ago I posted a topic asking for the pros and cons of getting a treadle machine to use at our campground. I have not found one yet but continue to look for one.

However, this past week I was at the farm and my DH graciously provided me a 100 yd cord and a generator. I spent the weekend happily on the creek bank.

The fun thing is I am attracting new little quilters. I was working on a baby quilt for my new niece who arrived July 3th and three little girls showed up. ( They come down often to swim) The loved the machine and sewing ( they have been there before when I was cutting pieces and I let them help choose colors for a scrappy quilt). Sooo the baby quilt got set aside and we made dolly covers (I didn't have any batting with me). The two little ones I made them for them but the older one (I think she was 8 or 9) sewed her own. We had a very happy afternoon. I think I may have got her hooked....a bit different than the fish that others were catching.

yeah - you got to share your love of sewing/quilting and they got to experience a new creative outlet - they will always remember you with loving memories...

How fun. I made my first doll quilt under my neighbor's big oak tree many many years ago.
