Default quilting frame

I have a HQ II tabletop quilting frame that my son is going to make me a steel frame to set it up on. He will make it anyway I want. I know I want it 6' long by 20-24" wide and I want hooks so I can hang my roll of batting underneath.

You have helped so much over the years, I was wondering if you have any other ideas that I could have him add to the frame? It will be in front of my 2 windows, but also in front of the baseboard heater, which I don't want to block.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Lucky You! This sounds like the best thing ever. I am sitting here racking my brain on anything else that might be needed and I can't come up with a thing. Be sure it is level is the most important think I can think of. Have loads of fun with it!

A little shelf, pocket, drawer would be wonderful to put tour scissors, seam ripper, needle threader, tweezers, etc. my trolley has a shelf over the machine...I have a small basket on it to hold my immediate needs w/o having to do a search. So handy!

Nothing to add. I am glad you have someone to do this. Lucky you.

Thank you Ladies, the shelf/basket is a great idea. I have an old kitchen unit there is a small drawer he could add. I have to have all my ideas together before he works on it. He is a specialized welder, and he told me he already has a frame he is going to cut down to my specifications. I saw it and it is too high, but will work perfectly. I want wheels w/brakes so if I have to, I can get behind it. I have a 1938 Singer 66 I just dropped off at the repair shop. It needs rewiring, I am hoping she can do it, if the wiring in the motor is no good, she won't. I want to use it on the frame. Otherwise I will use an alternate machine. Thanks again Ladies

Luckily it wouldn’t be difficult to find another motor if it was needed. Sounds like you have put a lot of thought into your project. Good luck!
