any thread you want other than hand quilting thread.
Is a personal preference depending on what you are quilting on.
I normally use regular thread. Sometimes a heavier thread with proper needle.
I have a Janome 1600P & have used a lot of different thread on it- Gutterman, Signature cotton, varigated cottons & rayons. I find my machine isn't too picky!
