Quilting and Ms. Kitty have seriously saved my sanity......

Your story warmed my heart. I have had kitties all my life; since I was 7 and found a newborn left out in the desert to die and took her home to nurse from my cocker spaniel who had a new litter. I now have another "Kitty" (many years later),who is going on 9 yrs old and has been my buddy through a lot of "stuff". None quite as traumatic as yours, but a lot. I hope you can keep your new friend as they can be so comforting and loving, it is worth every bit of effort. Much love and hope and prayers to you in this new year.

Though I can't have a cat due to many allergies, I have enjoyed many stories and pictures on this Board of quilters and their feline quilting companions. I pray Ms. Kitty may remain a part of your future and your health returns so you can enjoy many years of quilting together. And if you need someone to talk to, we're great listeners. God Bless..

You are such a strong woman and your attitude is so positive! I too believe God does know what's best for us and gives us what we need when we need it. Being an animal lover I know just how much comfort and companionship they can be. Ms. Kitty came into your life when you needed her the most! I do hope you decide to keep her since she sure seems to love you already. Quilting also helped me to recover from injuries I sustained in our motorcycle accident May 2009. All of the PT in the world didn't do what quilting did for my hand and arm. I believe I have the movement in my hand due to hand quilting and am so thankful I'm still able to do what I love.....quilt and love my pets.

A certain kitty came into your life for a reason. Whether she gets to stay or needs to return to a previous home isn't what matters. She has shown you that having a special kitty in your life is something you need. Both quilting and a little dog are what has gotten me through some truely hard years recently. Some days I would have given up, but my little rescue dog makes me go on.
Keep thinking forward. When a rough period hits, (as it does for all people) just hold your dear kitty. And if she leaves you, go immediately and get a new kitty-there are plenty that need homes! Good luck and praying your health improves and each day is happy for you.

I have found that when an animal comes into our lives without us looking for them, it is because we need them. Bruno (a really big dog when he grew up) showed up on my porch at a bad time in my life and was there for the other times that came quickly after. (lost husband, x husband and son in 9 mos) he was a huge gentle and loving dog who thought he was a lap dog. He lived 12 yrs. also when you lose one cat, a new one will appear. Baby girl is my latest. She sits on my lap and shiloh my doxie (he was originally an abused dog) lies next to me when I sit and read, and then in bed at nite. I feel loved......what more do we need?
