I need some ideas. I am ready to baste my top to the back. I now realize that my idea for sid may not be the best because several of my seams (ditches) do not line up. I made a square in square lap quilt and it has several squares of chenille involved. So, that pretty much eliminates all over quilting patterns. My materials are mostly animal prints and the back is wh background with bl and br animals on it. Then do I use variegated thread? Any ideas are much appreciated I know this is the place for quilting answers. Thanks so much .....

I love to use varigated thread when quilting, I love the look. Does your machine have a serpentine stitch... I use that one and just follow the seam lines. You do not have to have perfectly aligned seams to use this, and it does not show if you are off the seam line a bit, either.

I can't find a picture of the front, but this will give you the idea.

I love using the serpentine stitch too. It is very forgiving.
