    Hi,
I've seen some of these posted. I have tops for the Pacific Rim sea turtles and the dragonflies done and am stuck thinking about finishing them. After reading the Christmas thread, I was reminded that one of these is a gift.
For anyone who has made one, what batting did you use? And how did you decide to quilt it?
    Thanks in advance,
    lots2do
PS The dragonfly is for me so I can practice on that. Just have to get moving on these WIPS.

    Linda -
Did you use batiks? Was it hard to hand quilt? I would definitely consider going that way just thought it would be too hard with batiks.
    Thanks!

I didn't use Batiks, I think they would be stiff...I got tired of hand quilting so when I got to the frame on the pineapple design I used the walking foot and then echoed all the way around...sure alot faster...was looking for a picture but couldn't find it in the puter. I have the dragonfly also, Nancy Chong came to our guild 2 years ago and bought it then with the material and matching thread included. They are such awesome designs...include some pictures when you decide what to do...

Well, since I used batiks, I think I better just bite the bullet and try machine quilting it. I will use the one for me first as the experiment. I just worked on moving my sewing space around a bit. (I think I'm just working up the nerve). After all of that time invested in the reverse applique, I'd sure hate to mess either one of them up but I really won't know until I try.
Linda - you are so lucky you got to meet Nancy. I'd love to go to one of their retreats but they seem a bit pricey to me (and my budget). :)

PS Someone has the butterfly pattern as her avatar...or did. Hope she might find this thread and add her thoughts.
