Default Quilting a panel?

I have been away from quilting for a bit…life happens!
I am machine quilting this panel for a new baby, but after outlining the larger images, and a few in the oval border, I am stumped. I tried searching here for panel quilts, but did not have much luck. Any ideas will be appreciated!
I do not have a long arm…quilting on domestic machine.

It looks like you have extra fabric between the central motifs and the oval leaf border. I would do some meandering with little occasional grass spikes in the green grass from the central motifs out until you get to the border to push the extra fabric out. Once that is done, I would meander in the “sky” section with a few clouds maybe? Once the inside of the oval is done, I would stitch the oval border ring. From the oval out, I would do a few lines out from the oval kind of like sun rays. If that all went well I would go back and add a bit of quilting inside the bigger motifs to add texture.

What a cute panel! I agree with Tartan.

If that is to be used by a baby, you won't want too much quilting in it or it will become stiff and not so nice for baby. I'm a stitch-in-the-ditch quilter and would follow the lines around the outside but have no ideas for the leafy oval.

Default Quilting a panel

Like you I make panel quilts . I also machine quilt them. I go to a a couple of books I have called 501 and 502 Quilting Motifs for Hand or Machine Quilting. They are from the folks at Quilter Magazine. Hope this helps you. Also another source is Christina Cameli on Free Motion quilting.

I totally agree with minimal quilting for a baby quilt. I love Tartan's plan, but not for a baby. It would look great, but stiffish.
