Is the Electric Quilt 7 software worth the price? I read some older posts and was wondering about some current thoughts. Thanks, anna

I don't know about EQ7 but I bought EQ6 a bit ago and I love it. It took me a while to learn it but it's a great tool for me.

I bought EQ6 several years ago and upgraded to EQ7 as soon as it came out. I also have the Dear Jane software, which is based on EQ5. I use EQ all the time and would not be without it. I use it for almost every quilt that I make.

That said, there are many people who buy it and never use it, mostly because they claim it's too hard. I suspect these are people who are not really comfortable with their computers and are unlikely to use a new program for any purpose.

There are lots of free lessons embedded in the software, and in the book, and the company provides good support. There are additional lessons available free or for a fee. It will help if you go through the lessons, and re-visit them if you have a problem or question.

As to whether it's worth the money - it is to me. It might not be to you, depending on whether you like to use your computer as a design tool.

Ordered EQ7 Sunday evening and it arrived yesterday (Wednesday). Can't wait to get into it. I am hoping my Embird and Crochet Design software experiece will give me an edge learning to navigate around the program.
