Has anyone every made or seen a rag quilt that has the open seams on the back side instead of the front. I am making a rag quilt and the front is quite busy and different and the back is not so I was thinking of doing a reverse rag quilt . Any thoughts as to why or why not this will work out ok?
Thanks for any and all suggestions.

I have seen these quilts both ways. The only thing I would think about is that the fuzzy ridges will be next to the person. Some people will like that and others will not. In some cases there will be a sheet between and some cases not. Is this a lap or a bed quilt?

I do "reversible" rag quilts sometimes. It's pretty any way you look at it, and there is no defined top/back in terms of the fabric layout. The owner gets to pick which side is which. I like giving them that option. It makes for a fun project too.

I made a rag quilt where every other row was ragged on the back. So first seam to the front rag. Then the next seam for the following row opened to the back. Both sides were ragged. Had a little of both on each side.
I also made my son a rag quilt. He will only sleep with the ragged side on the inside. He likes the soft pieces. But then again he is only 4 :) and it's been washed a million times since I made it for him when he was 2!
