raggy t-shirt quilt?

I'm trying to make 3 t-shirt quilts by Xmas :|
I've never made one before and all the photos I've seen of them are either with or without sashing. Pretty straight forward. And that's how I'll make them for the boys.
But I need to make one for a girl and I was wondering if I could make hers 'raggy'?
What I mean is, will the interfaced t-shirt material "rag" ok?

i made a raggedy HD tshirt quilt, it started out to be a regular quilt, and it got so messed up, while i was quilting it, i took the
t-shirts out, and re-did it as a raggedy
i used 2 strips of cotton fabric down the sashing,sewed them down, and clipped them to rag up..
it was a mistake that turned out pretty good!

think of it this way. fabric rags because it is woven.
t shirt fabric is knitted so no threads to come out and rag up. You could cut the edges of the tshirt fabric very narrow and it might give the appearance of ragging if you had other woven fabric underneith it. Then if there is a fusiable on the back that will effect the rag look.
I always consider the nature of the fabric when thinking about these things.

....another thought. You might consider putting the t shirt motifs onto the rag backing in an applique fashion. Stack your layers together. Cut the t shirt and machine applique it to the center of the layers. Could add decorative stitch around the edges. Then you would not cut into the knitted fabric and the woven would give the ragged edge.
