Square that Stopped Me in my Tracks
I was picking through 2.5" squares that I received in a recent birthday swap, but hadn't noticed the first time it came. But tonight I came across it, and ...whoa! Took my breath away.
This square, sent as one of 50 scraps of the same size, from a complete stranger here on the board, is exactly the same print that went into the very first quilt I made.
The quilt was for my mom's graduation from nursing school (when she was 57) . That was 18 years ago! I haven't seen the quilt since, because she put it away (it was "too nice").

If you are reading this and recognize it as one you sent out in the 2016-17 b'day candy swap, please tell me. I'd love to know!

It's nice when something like that happens! It does bring back memories, good ones at that!
Ask your Mom to take that quilt out of storage and make some memories with it! It has too much of your love in it to be shut up in a box somewhere. I have seen gorgeous quilts in Good Will, never used - kept for 'good'. When the owner passes to his/her reward, the relatives have no clue what to do with it, so it goes to Good Will.

Pretty fabric, but I don't recognize it... so it wasn't me who sent it!
Funny, but I was just working with my birthday squares tonight too. I made 50 9-patches out of them. They are so cute! I'm planning to do the Patches of Life quilt with them. Have to put together about 20 more.

I didn't send it but that was one of my favorite fabrics too! I was given yardage in a friend's mom's stash. I have used it up but I know how a fabric brings back memories. Good luck, I'm sure someone has it somewhere.
