A single one is an hourglass. Put together like that, it's Broken Dishes. They are made of quarter square triangles. Everybody's right!

I've just finished making "lots" of those blocks for the 2017 Bonnie Hunter Mystery quilt and she calls them "hour glass".

A single unit is an hour-glass made with quarter squares. When they are set together as in your picture they are known as broken dishes. There may also be other names as many blocks have several names.
