    Default Repairman... Good or bad?

After reading some posts on sewing machine repairmen issues....
If I need a repair; how do I tell if the repairmen is a good one or a dud? What questions should I ask of him/her that may help in trying to figure their abilities and such? Any other advice? Thanks.

Only way I know is word of mouth. Do you have any sewing friends or a quilt shop in your area? I would ask them.

That is another benefit of belonging to a quilting group or guild: more quilters to ask.
