Default Help with backing question

I posted on here a while ago about a quilt that I was finally finishing after 6 years and had a question about the last borders. Well, after finishing it I needed to get the backing fabric. The quilt top is all browns, tans and dark green. It is a log cabin. I picked out the backing fabric from Connecting Threads and thought it would be perfect. Brown floral. When the fabric arrived, it has blue in the flowers! My question is this, would you still use it even though there is no blue in the top (just green) or try and find something else?

I would use it. Sometimes I match my backings to the top. Other times I put something on the back that gives it a little surprise.

I would use it. A little blue on the back wouldn't be enough to make me try to find something else. A pleasant surprise.

Does the binding you plan to use look good with both the top and back?

If so, I would use it.

Most people don't look at both sides at one time.

I would use it. Sounds like it matches well enough. Otherwise you'll have a back sitting around for who knows how long without a purpose

I agree with everyone else to use it. Sounds like it is a pretty fabric also and I don't think that a little bit of blue would matter. It might even give it a little different surprise when anyone flips it and sees another pretty fabric.

Based on what you said, I would use it. As long as the binding matches both sides. I have used a binding that matched the top perfectly and appeared it would be okay with the back, but it really didn't after all so I took it off and found something else I preferred.

I would absolutely use it! I agree with Bear, who looks at both sides of the quilt at the same time?? And then who would make a comment about it not matching? The Quilt Police, that's who, and we don't give a hoot about them anyway. Am I right??

I actually prefer if my quilts aren't matchy-matchy anyway. I personally don't care much for making quilts that use all fabric from one line, I think they tend to be kind of boring. JMO.

Without seeing both of them I can't say exactly what I would do. I try to have the back at least coordinate with the top. People do different things. Some people use completely different color schemes on the front and back. I too like the binding to coordinate with both the front and the back.
