i love when friends/family request quilts. they offer to pay for the materials or to me, but i refuse to take payment. i just enjoy making them and knowing they'll be used is payment enough to me!

My DGS is soon to be 5. His Baby quilt is falling apart cause it's been well loved. Last week I said maybe he needs a new one.
He said "OK grama, you make me a new one but can you make it zackly like this one, cause I really like this one, and I like the square here and this one too, so Grama, Can it be zackly the same."
Tall order, I don't think a teeny worn out baby blankie is what I was thinking.

My youngest granddaughter said it would make her "happy" to have a quilt I make someday. Also, my grandson said he would like a quilt that reminds him of our annual trips to the ocean. Already purchased some fabrics for them; but not sure when I will get them made.

I am very flattered by requests and will do my best to fill them (when I can!) Next up, for my new niece...a quilt. My brother, the father-to-be asked if I would "knit a quilt." (I am an also a knitter, though the knitting has been dormant). I love to knit, but with Christmas gifts couldn't finish a knitted blanket, so I am making a quilt. I think he will love it!

I love it when the family wants your love to be put into a quilt - will last forever!
