Yes! Yes! Yes!! I love the border fabric with the blocks.

That said ... take a look at it with mitered borders instead of the cornerstones. I dont' think the cornerstones are adding anything to the table. You have a lovely focus center ... give it a simple but pretty frame and let the dogs shine.

Thank you everyone. I felt there was something not quite right. It was not singing to me. I was thinking the problem might be the multi-color sash. I thought it was my fabric, but now I am understanding that it is really a proportion issue. I will cut it down, and I bet I will feel a lot happier with it. Blessings to all of you quilting angels who encouraged me and suggested I make a few changes including move one of the windmill blocks down.

BearisGray and DogHouseMom, I just lost those corner stones. :-) Thanks for helping me see that the cornerstones were taking away from the focus of the quilt.

It's a great quilt! I personally think the outer border fabric is a little busy and can detract from the pinwheels and greyhounds. I would use a wider black border and then bind with the multi-colour.

Quilt looks good. Where did you get the dog pattern?

The appliqué pattern is from Darcy Ashton's book, Darling Little Dogs. The quilt top is inspired by a quilt seen in a Fons and Porter magazine. It had teddy bears in it instead of dogs and it had a blue border.

I agree . The quilt colors look good and would switch out the block with the darker color and place it at the bottom left.
Love the dogs!

Personally, I am not a fan of the border fabric - think it is too busy - and too blue (personal taste, of course) If it were my quilt - and I really like the rest of the block, I would go with a creamy color and let the dogs do all the talkin'
