Default "Retro" Request Runner

Some of you may remember me asking advice on how to piece this. It is a housewarming gift for a friend who asked me to do a small table runner that matched her curtains. Not my regular style, but heck, I'll try anything once.

I decided I was never going to be able to piece this so did fused applique and satin stitched all the edges. I used a projector to put the image up on the wall so I could trace the shapes and then trace them onto fabric that had Steam a Seam Lite 2 on it. It's a bit, um...organic... in spots.

I am going to bind it with the beige.
Do you think I need to quilt inside the blue and if so, what would you put in there?

You did well - definitely captured "the flavor" of the curtains.

wow! your "attempt" to copy it is absolute perfection! if it's not excessively wide, I would leave the blue the way it is. if you ** to quilt something, i would do vertical lines in the blue to contrast with your horizontal ones.

I would not quilt in the blue. I think you did a fabulous job with the table runner & the quilting. Your friend should love it.

You did a fabulous job!! How large is the middle area? If it is within the recommended spacing on the batting package, I would leave it alone. I agree... if you do quilt it, use white and compliment the white fabric. Again... !!

Great as is--leave it alone. Adding more wouldn't make it any better!
