I have several brands, I find that I need one that self retracts, otherwise I am always cutting my self....have one from Fons and Porter, no really impressed with it....love my Olfa that self retracts, squeeze the handle and cut, let go of the handle and the blade is safe....have run the blade across my entire hand when I am not paying attention......my Clover does not self retract either.....

Yes, they are all interchangeable. The most durable blades available are manufactured by KAI and are made in Japan. They are made of Tungsten Steel and their rotary cutters are ergonomically designed with an automatic retractable blade guard.

FYI - KAI also manufactures Shun Knives which are featured by William Sonoma. Needless to say, they produce the highest quality products in the cullinary, hairdressing and textile industries from scissors, rotary cutters to knives.

Good call on purchasing an Olfa cutter. The Fiskar blades will fit an Olfa, so by all means, get the Olfa.
