I have several sizes of Olfa and a small Clover. Love them all. Have nearly forgotten how to use scissors.

When the spring flew off of mine I called them and they sent
me a brand new one. You might try calling the company and
see what they will do for you

maybe the blade is too tight
    it should roll easily

I also have Fiskars cutter and two Olfas. I like both brands. I do not favor one over the other. Hope you find one you like.

I have a standard Fiskars and I like it fine, but I love the Olfa ergonomic. I have one in 45 and one in 60.

I have a Gingher and an Olfa and like both. I tried the Martelli and hated it so much I gave it away. Someday I may come to regret it, but it was really uncomfortable for me compared to the others.

I use a Olfa. I like it because the blade retracts when you put it down. I seriously cut my index finger so I have a real respect for all safety features.
