Have been using it for 6 years

If you can find the older heavy wooden lazy susans it would work great. Keep an eye out at thrift stores and yard sales. The newer plastic ones will tip at the ends when cutting off center. I tired making one with the plastic turntable. It wasn't sturdy enough.
Yup mine is the wooden one.

What brand do you recommend. I keep looking at them but the Olfa is so expensive and I would like at least the next size up from the 12". I will use a JoAnns coupon when I decide.

I have the 12x17, the 18x24, and the 36x58 that covers my whole work table. I don't want to do without any of them!!! I use the small ones upstairs in front of the TV to cut apart HST and square them up. I use the biggest one even to cut fabric for draperies and other sewing projects!
Lucky me, but remember, I bought all of them when they were 50% off.

36 x 59 rotating mat? I've never seen one that big. It would need a lot of room to turn!

I really like my 12 inch one, but I was so dumb at first I didn't notice that when I picked it up I had left the base on the table. Everytime I used it there was a hump in the middle and it didn't turn very easily. I was about to give up on it when I saw that other THING sitting over there....duh! Works great now.

My LQS sold her business to another LQS and I bought the cutting matt she used to measure and cut. She had just replaced the older one. So for 40.00 it was mine. She paid 185.00 for it. But now it is under my bed. I want to make a cutting table for it but have to clean out the room and make room for it. I actually thought about cutting it to the size of my cutting table DH made. Shame to do that. Maybe one day it will come out of hiding. LOL I have 4 sizes myself and selfhealing, do not self heal. Maybe it's because I cut out so many kits for charity quilting.
By the way. it is about 36" x 70 or larger. Took up a whole counter like at Joann's only not as long.

The Fun and Done patterna are great.
I have a few of the patterns and just got one of the new ones this last week....
The cutting matts and rotary cutters are awsome.
And we ysed to trace from cardboard templates and cut out with scissors.... oh my what changes I have seen through the last 40 years....
