San Diego
I will be in San Diego from the 16t to the 22 of this month. I am staying the in the Gas Lamp area. I am doing the row by row experience and looked up the fabric shops close to where I am staying. The only one I see is a cab ride of $50 one way. Of course as much as I would like to go there, that is way out my budget. Is there one closer that I don't see?

How nice you are visiting my beautiful city.....I hope you enjoy your stay, however the bad news is our downtown and immediate surrounding area's are lacking in quilt stores. all of our quilt shops are in the surrounding cities part of San Diego county and unless you rent a car there is no economical way to visit them.
See as much of our beautiful city as you and enjoy your stay in the gas lamp try to get to seaport village, the embarcadero and the midway museum.

That is really sad because there are so many neat stores but not in the downtown area where I think you will be. Billi would know more details with the area. There is Cozy Quilt shop, Rosie's and QIAD. I myself would rent a car for a day and enjoy doing your own mini quilt hop. You can check the map of the local San Diego quilt shop hop :
