Seems the trend around here now is to have a "father to be" party at the same time as the shower...the men take diapers and usually meet at a sports bar for lunch...I would go ahead and give the quilt as your gift

I say give the quilt. It is a special gift given from the heart. Nothing can be wrong with that.

I like the idea of wrapping the gift in a quilt.

I agree with giving the quilt--it was a gift made with her and her baby in mind. The wrapping idea is wonderful. If you think that it would offend others or cause a big negative deal to gift it at the shower--give it privately.

I agree as well!

I would give it to her, quilts are precious, and diapers go to the trash.

Give her the quilt. Either wrap the diapers in the quilt or give the quilt privately. We have had circumstances where a diaper shower or gift cards only was appropriate like single mom with little money, second child in 2 years (same gender), and mother was moving houses 2 days before her planned c-section. Both my kids ended up with extended stays in the NICU so I just got $$$ at the work shower to help out and it was a help.

I just helped with a diaper shower , ( first one ) called a diaper shower, wasn't sure why we were calling it that , but found out , it was because it is her 4th baby and she didn't need anything else.
Well my BFF( The Grandma to the little angel) she had found a bumper pad that was so cute and she got it at a second hand store, well there was not quilt to go with it , so made one to match it, and made a diaper cake ( becasue that is what she needed most !!! I thought it worked with the theme. She was very happy with the quilt and all the diapers.

quilt to match bumper pads

Flowers are pens in a pot for the games and prize , diaper cake , I put a piece of the fabric from the quilt around the bottom, and yo yo in the center of the leaves to look like a flower from the fabric , not in photo
