My daughter bought me a really nice scalloped border ruler from JoAnn's for my birthday. It has 4 different sizes of scallops and a straight edge. From what I've read on here, JoAnn seem to have a good selection of quilt supplies.

there's a super tutorial on missouri star quilts. She uses a special ruler (which I've bought a couple of weeks ago, but haven't yet used). But I think with a little thought, you could make a template using heavy template plastic.

there's also a tutorial on this board, but the instructional photos are missing (finished photos on page 3 of posting)

I have a lady who wants scalloped edges on her quilt.
So before she cut the quilt, I will do a half feather around the sides, she will just have to cut 1/2 to 3/4" and apply binding. With the use of a Statler you can have the computer figure the scalloped edges.
enjoy!
