I love these old sewing books too. There are so many old ways of doing things that have gone by the way side with all the new technology and I enjoy learning how it was all done in the past. I've learned how to make lace on my machine and all sorts of other cool things that aren't even mentioned in my sewing manual for my machine.

I just read the inside cover and I'm cracking up....

There's an advertisement for a Singer Touch & Sew Machine starting at $149.95! Wish we could rewind to 1962 prices!

I have a box of 50's and 60's styled dress and coat patterns, and Popular Mechanics, Popular Electronics, science, and Look (I think this one was in Christmas Story) magazines, etc. from 1940 on. Do you want them? It was very interesting going through my in-laws closets after their deaths. She had 4 dresses with notes saying who made it for what occassion, and hats to go with. Ironicly, she has 4 GGD they went to. She had set aside a special outfit she made for each of her children (to whom they went), and I'm still getting up the nerve to move the pile of feeds sacks (I'm keeping these) in the closet where the bats used to come in.
