I have been looking for a cabinet for Patience my japanese singer clone. Was at my favorite thrift store today and this is what I found. A oval topped cabinet with a Bel Air De Luxe No. 929 sewing machine. It was the cabinet that caught my attention. It is obvious that the sewing machine is not original to the cabinet. The sewing machine opening has been modified. In a cubby hole of the cabinet I found and instruction book for an Eldredge Two Spool sewing machine along with another booklet using steel attachments. I feel that one of the reasons that the booklets are so well preserved is that they absorbed a huge amoung to sewing machine oil and smell like old oil. It is possible that the original machine for this cabinet was an Eldredge.

The top folds back and rests on a fold out support and creates a table. Really cool!!! Looks as if I will have to add furniture restoring to my repetoire of skills.

That is a nice table and machine! I've never seen a sewing table like that and it is nice just as a table.

Yes, I thought the same thing after I took another picture of it. As I remember, the white was a little creamier in color than what is on the sewing machine.

Don't know if it runs yet, will start the inspection and cleaning tomorrow.

Awesome cabinet and also awesome machine!!! My newest addiction is the Japanese machines. They come in such wonderful colors!!

Try Howard's Restore a Finish on the cabinet. It made one of mine look just lovely.
