I make bonus half square triangle blocks when making something like a snowball block. I keep those in a plastic bag. left over strips or squares are sorted by size. Smaller strips go into a bag to be made into a strip quilt.

I always gave my pieces away here on the board. But the last box, I got no takers. I thought maybe they were too small. about 1" up to about 4-5. Any takers? Free for postage.

Love NYGal's quilt! It's a beauty. There is such a thing as a "Crumb quilt." You'll find pictures if you search. I've started saving for one. But mostly I cut 2 1'2 inch squares and save skinny strips long enough for a scrappy border.

I TRY to organize my scraps, but generally I just throw them in a drawer until it overflows then make a scrappy quilt or 2.

I like the scrappies I see here. One of my fav scrappy patterns is a traditional one called Square Cross or Vestibule. I like to call it corner star. There are probably thousands of good scrappy blocks, however, Dresden Plate, for example.

Nygal, just curious here...are your blocks 8 inches? Just guessing that the big HSTs are 6 inches and the smaller ones 2 inches?

Can you tell I really like your quilt?! :-)
