Most of my stash is scraps in various sizes from other quilts & most have been given to me. I love going through the scraps I make while quilting & they've often saved my bacon so to speak when I get to the end of a certain piece. I save anything 2" or bigger. Long strips of selvage or whatever, is tied to my birds cage to preen & play with; the rest are put into a box & I go through it whenever I need a little piece of something special. I hear some folks use the strings & too small pieces for pillow filling or pet beds.

I agree with tessagin. Anything so small I don't think I'll use it goes into a bag until I have enough for a dog bed. My son has big dogs, so can always use them. Check out Bonnie Hunter's web site at http://quiltville.com/scrapusersystem.shtml she also makes crumb quilts. Check them out. It might be something you would like to do.
