Your quilt colors are very nice and I think the borders you described will be perfect. I understand why your recipient loves it... it is colorful, cheery and very pleasing to look at. Good job!

Yep, scrappy's drive me crazy too, it's hard to get one to look really random cause then I think this or that pattern is too close together and I'd be changing them all around and still getting something 'wrong'. (In my mind that is. :) )

I do agree here....except for one thing: I am NOT a scrappy person  . It's not that I don't like them, in fact, I really do like them; but getting the scraps really random drives me nuts. I never think they're really right.

This scrappy quilt is darling!

Thanks again, everyone. It is starting to grow on me. I like the white sashing, and my friend requested it, so it is staying. I find that I like white in quilts, though I know it isn't what everyone prefers. Then...and I keep forgetting...this isn't really my quilt.

I haven't got much more done, but when I do, I will post a picture of the finished top.

It looks great. Perhaps you could take one of the blocks in the second row that has the red in it and reposition it in the first row. That way each of the rows has a block with red in it.

The quilt is beautiful, I think you will be fine. If your friend likes it, that what counts.

I love your scrappy! The white sashing gives it a modern look. I just started making scrappies in the last year or so and had a hard time with it at first - matchy-matchy you know! After making a couple of them, I love them now! I have been quilting for 25 years, so you can only imagine my scrap bins! I actually did put them in paper bags (one for darks and one for lights)and sewed them in the order I took them out unless I got 2 the same in a row. It turned out stunning!
